Clearleap Builds on US
Multiscreen Video Success
 with European Launch

  • Targets European Pay-TV operators and content owners that want to offer managed multiscreen video services
  • Opens HQ in Amsterdam and two data centres in Amsterdam and Frankfurt
  • European debut of Clearleap Multiscreen Platform at IBC which enables tangible multiscreen business models and painless delivery of multiscreen services

Amsterdam, Netherlands, August 8, 2013 – Clearleap, the leading provider of multiscreen video logistics solutions for the television industry, has opened a European headquarters in Amsterdam and will debut its Clearleap Multiscreen Platform in Europe at IBC 2013 (Connected World #14.270). Clearleap offers content owners and Pay-TV operators a new approach to accelerating and simplifying multiscreen video and enters the European market with an established IP foothold, including two data centres in Amsterdam and Frankfurt.

Clearleap has launched in Europe at a time when the market is gearing up to get serious about multiscreen and seeking solutions that optimize what has been a complicated and costly ecosystem for IP video to date.

There is a continuing and rising trend amongst viewers to embrace the dual-screen/multiscreen phenomenon – recent research from Juniper Research (May 2013) shows that by 2017, 2 billion mobile and tablet users will watch TV and video on their devices and Western Europe alone will represent a fifth of this.

“With two live data centres and customers already signed in the region, Clearleap is ready to show the European multiscreen space how it can move forward to the next level,” said Braxton Jarratt, CEO of Clearleap. “We understand that launching across-device services can be challenging in such a fragmented ecosystem, but we offer solutions that take the complexity out of this process, giving content owners and operators the freedom to spend time on creating and delivering the exciting services their viewers demand.

“

As OTT services rise in popularity and expand their footprint in Europe, we are giving operators and content providers new tools and products to bring to market their own successful multiscreen solutions,” continued Jarratt.

Clearleap launches into Europe on the back of five very successful years in the US domestic market where it has become a trusted partner for multiscreen with leading programmers and services providers including HBO, Food Network, Travel Channel, Verizon, and Time Warner. The company has appointed Preben Schack as Vice President of Sales EMEA to drive growth and sales across Europe. Preben brings more than 25 years’ experience in sales and marketing in the telecommunications, technology and IT industries and joins Clearleap from TeleBilling, where he worked as Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

“Clearleap brings to the European market a wealth of experience in enabling content owners and service providers to launch effective multiscreen services simply and quickly,” said Preben Shack, VP of Sales EMEA, Clearleap. “We have built our solutions with a new approach for the multiscreen environment, and this is what makes Clearleap unique.

Our platform offers a complete infrastructure for delivering multiplatform services but the framework is modular so that our customers can pick and choose which components they need. I am excited to be part of Clearleap and to be driving its launch into Europe.”

The Clearleap Multiscreen Platform simplifies the logistics of service management, workflow, and delivery of massive video libraries of high-value content for any screen.  Designed to work as a comprehensive solution or as modules that can plug into existing infrastructures, Clearleap enables distributed multiscreen video processing and asset management workflows as well as distribution, ad management, and a synchronized user experience across video devices and networks.

Clearleap will be exhibiting in the IBC Connected World on stand #14.270, Amsterdam, Sept 13th–17th.
